Albert Brooks Returns to ‘The Simpsons’ after Six Years

After six years away from the long-running animated comedy series, actor Albert Brooks (Finding Nemo, Drive) made his return as a guest actor to The Simpsons in the episode “Yokel Hero,” according to Screen Rant. The Academy Award-nominated actor has previously provided his voice work in seven episodes as well as his inclusion in the 2007 film The Simpsons Movie. Brooks’ role in “Yokel Hero” will mark his eighth voice appearance for the series.

Brooks has voiced a list of characters in guest capacities, starting in the show’s first season, such as Jacques, Brad Goodman, Tab Spangler, Cowboy Bob, Dr. Raufbold, Slick manager, and the villainous Hank Scorpio. Additionally, he provided the contribution of the villain, Russ Cargill, for the feature film. Scorpio has previously been referred to by fans and critics alike as one of the best villain, if not all, characters on the long-running television series. The 32nd season episode “Yokel Hero” sees Brooks voice Slick Manager who works at the United Parasites Management Company and will be pitted against the redneck character Cletus.

The Simpsons follow the titular family in Springfield and the zany interactions with its other residents. Recently renewed for two more seasons at Fox, the animated series will be the longest-running scripted series with its upcoming 33rd and 34th seasons.
