‘AKOTSK’ Season Two: Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay And Peter Mullan Join Cast

As production continues on its second season, Deadline reports HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has announced new cast additions. Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay and Peter Mullan are set to join the series based on the novellas from A Song of Fire and Ice scribe George R. R. Martin (Dark Winds).

According to Deadline, Boynton is Lady Rohanne, while Ceesay will play Ser Bennis. Mullan is set to star as Ser Eustace Osgrey.

The series, which premiered in February, stars Pete Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Egg, respectively. The show highlights the lesser folk of Westeros, following Dunk’s random adventures toward knighthood. Along the way, he acquires a friend and squire in Egg, who is later revealed to be none other than Prince Aegon Targaryen.

Deadline reports Boynton has been seen in the musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story. Ceesay was last seen as the militant cyborg Morrow in FX’s Alien: Earth, which is expected to have a second season. He’s also appeared in Damilola, Our Loved Boy. Mullan is known for the Netflix series Ozark and the BAFTA award-winning film I Swear.

According to Deadline, production on the second season began in December, with the show receiving renewal in November. The show surprisingly scored critical acclaim despite its more comedic tone, a departure from the Game of Thrones franchise. The season’s fifth episode, in particular, “In the Name of the Mother,” earned great esteem as one of the best episodes in Thrones history. It also set an online war as its IMDb rating went head-to-head with the reigning best-rated TV episode, Breaking Bad’s “Ozymandias.”

The casting news rides the heels of a film finally coming to fruition, with Andor and House of Cards writer Beau Willimon attached to pen the script. The film will follow Aegon I’s rise to ruling Westeros. The next Thrones project is due in June, with the third season of House of the Dragon

Season one of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is available to stream on HBO Max.
