‘Agatha All Along’ Showrunner Gives Reason Behind Missing Post-Credit Scene In Series’ Finale

Agatha All Along had been thrilling ride and had captivated the audience with its rich characters and the surprising twists keeping them on the edge of their seats. The series focused on the titled character played by Kathryn Hahm (Bad Mom) and her coven, who partake in the witches road and complete dangerous trials in order to get what they most desire. According to Elle, one thing was absent from the finale: the post credit, in which Marvel is known for connecting every installment in the franchise to each other.

This isn’t the first time Marvel has not provided a post-credit within a series; other examples include Secret Invasion and the second season of Loki. According to Elle, it was revealed why it didn’t happen by the series showrunner, Jac Schaeffer (Wandavsision), in an interview with Variety, “That’s a Marvel decision. I know nothing more than that,” and that she had numerous ideas for the final cut, but none made it through.

According to an interview with Variety, Schaeffer goes into detail about the decision, “from when it dropped to about an hour ago, I’ve been feeling pretty shaky,” the showrunner said with a laugh. “We dropped a lot of content — a lot of moments,” She continued. “I think some of my best writing is in the tags that were never made, they’re so fun to write, because you’re writing the promise without having to deliver on anything.”

According to Elle, the ending to the mystical series has left the door for potential spinoffs to be produced, with one possibly being based around Billy, aka Wiccan, played by Joe Locke (Heartstopper), and Agatha going on a journey to find his brother. This post-credit scene could mean that Marvel didn’t want to spoil the franchise’s future, further provided by no confirmation of the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla), returning to the screen. The entirety of Agatha All Along, as well as the other series in the Marvel franchise, are available to stream on Disney+.
