It looks like the Australian original show, which hasn’t even premiered in Australia, is coming to America in just a few months.
As Deadline exclusively reported, the adaptation of the crime drama show Secrets & Lies just got a 10-episode commitment at ABC without even premiering first in the country where it was created.
The original show’s plot is about Martin Henderson, a man who finds the corpse of a little boy and becomes the prime suspect in the crime. He then sees himself obliged to find the real killer so he can clean his reputation and his family’s, as well as save his marriage and his sanity.
The project will be produced by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment in association with Australia-based Hoodlum and casting is already underway.
It’s not the first time Kapital Entertainment gets a deal from ABC: right now, the network is airing two other show produced by them, The Neighbors and Back In The Game.
