According to Deadline, David Letterman (Late Show with David Letterman, The 67th Annual Academy Awards) will host a new special of his Netflix interview series featuring Adam Sandler (Saturday Night Live, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah). The Netflix interview series was renewed for seasons six and seven earlier this year. The episode featuring Sandler will be the fourth special in this series. The other specials included John Mulaney (Documentary Now!, Madden), Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Servant of the People, Me. You. He. She), and Shah Rukh Khan (Darr, Jawan). Sandler’s interview is scheduled to air on December 1 of this year.
Deadline mentioned that the air date came at the most opportune time. It arrives just before Sandler’s latest film, Jay Kelly, drops on Netflix, with George Clooney (Facts of Life, Good Night and Good Luck) starring. This film will be the second Netflix film for Sandler this year, after Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler’s other Netflix films included both Murder Mystery movies, with Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show, Friends).
Reported by Deadline, the series’ seasons consist of an irregular number of episodes. Season one had six episodes, while season two had five. Season three had four episodes, and season four had six total. The fifth season only had three. Guests on these various episodes included Presdient Barack Obama (Starting 5, Court of Gold), Tina Fey (Mean Girls, Date Night), Jay-Z (Space Dogg, Black is King), Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer, Dolittle), Dave Chappelle (What’s in a Name, A Star Is Born), Miley Cyrus (The Voice, PopSOngs World 2020) and finally Billie Eilish (Billie Eilish: LUNCH, Swarm).
Deadline mentioned that the series is produced by Jax Media and Worldwide Pants, Inc. Tom Keaney (Eno Maestra) and Mary Barclay (Late Show, Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming) will serve as executive producers for Worldwide Pants and Justin Wilkes (After the Hunt, Earnhardt), Michael Steed (The Mind of a Chef, The First 48), Isabel Richardson (Specials, Sympatico) and Yolanda T. Cochran (Danger Force, Side Hustle) will be EPs for Jax Media/Image Entertainment.
