The Charmed and Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Shannen Doherty has recently shared the shocking news that the breast cancer she has been battling has reached her brain. According to CNN Entertainment, Shannen Doherty posted a video onto her Instagram in which she can be seen given cancer treatment, tears in her eyes. The unfortunate news hits fans who have seen her career carry out from her work in Heathers, Fortress, and Hot Seat.
In the caption, Shannen Doherty wrote the following, “January 12, 2023. On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain,” she said.
The 52 year old actress continued her vulnerable post by adding, “January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life. I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin (Mirhadi) and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”
The cancer in her brain is not her first hurdle when it comes to cancer. Back in 2015, Shannen Doherty faced her first diagnosis of breast cancer. From there, her journey began and the actress underwent remission two years after. However, this good news was met with new developments with her cancer. In 2020, she unfortunately announced that her cancer had come back, and to make matters worse, it had spread to her brain. At this point, her cancer had developed into stage four. Hence, the actress has a new development regarding the spread of her breast cancer to her brain. Fans hope for the best for the beloved actress and look for a speedy recover and remission.
