Actor Bert Belasco (Let’s Stay Together) was found dead in his hotel room in Richmond, Virginia, according to Deadline. He was in Virginia filming a movie while following required quarantine guidelines in his room prior to joining the set. At 38, the cause of death is currently unknown.
The actor began television appearances in 2007 in the Fox drama House and the FX drama Justified before earning his breakout role as Charles Whitmore on the BET sitcom Let’s Stay Together. In addition, he was cast as Sonny Evers in the Fox series Pitch in 2016 and as Rene Marson in the Showtime series I’m Dying Up Here in 2018.
Since the news of his death was released, several friends and co-stars extended their sadness over his passing via social media. RonReaco Lee, Belasco’s Let’s Get Together co-star, stated on Instagram that he was “one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.”
Close friend and fellow actress Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Drake & Josh) took to twitter to share an image of the two.

Another Let’s Stay Together co-star, Jackée Harry tweeted that she was “heartbroken at the passing of Bert Belasco.”

Belasco’s friends, family, and fans are still awaiting the results of his autopsy.
