ABC’s ‘The Rookie’ Welcomes Lisseth Chavez as Newest Season Regular for Season Six

Actress Lisseth Chavez (Chicago P.D., Rizzoli & Isles) will now be a regular character in ABC’s drama series The Rookie for its expected sixth season. According to Deadline, Chavez portrayed the recurring character Officer Celina Juarez, the newest rookie on the force, in season five. She acted in 19 episodes during season five.  

The series has just surpassed its 100th episode and features Nathan Fillion (Castle, Serenity) as John Nolan, Alyssa Diaz (Red Dawn, Shark Night) as Angela Lopez, Mekia Cox (Gotham, Crazy, Stupid, Love) as Nyla Harper, Melissa O’Neil (Dark Matter, A Simple Favor) as Lucy Chen, Richard T. Jones (Event Horizon, Vantage Point) as Sergeant Wade Grey, Tru Valentino (Psychonauts, Fast & Furious Spy Racers) as Aaron Thorsen, Jenna Dewan (Step Up, Tamara) as Bailey Nune, Shawn Ashmore (X-Men: The Last Stand, X2) as Wesley Evers and Eric Winter (The Ugly Truth, A Taste of Summer) as Tim Bradford. 

The Rookie was created and executively produced by Alexi Hawley (Castle, Exorcist: The Beginning) alongside executive producers Michelle Chapman (Duke, Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men), Bill Norcross (The Rookie: Feds), Terence Paul Winter (Godzilla, Castle), Fillion and Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, The Messenger)

The ABC series is led and internationally distributed by Entertainment One, a co-production with ABC Signature and a part of Disney Television Studios. Season six of The Rookie airs on Tuesday, February 20 at 9/8c. 

In addition to The Rookie, Chavez has been a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow on The CW and Chicago P.D. on NBC. Vault Entertainment, GGSSC and The Osbrink Agency are representing Chavez. 

The Rookie follows John Nolan, a 45-year-old man from Pennsylvania who moves to Los Angeles after getting divorced. He aspires to become a police officer with the LAPD, and when his dream comes true, his age makes his bosses skeptical of his ability to keep up with the younger officers. Despite this, he is determined to prove himself and succeed in his chosen career.
