ABC’s famous series The Conners’ last and seventh season will be released in March 2025 and finally bring the beloved Roseanne franchise to a conclusion, TVLine reports. ABC has released the official premiere date for the series on Monday, alongside the channel’s midseason schedule. To be precise, they shared that season seven of The Conners will consist of six episodes to bring the series to a close.
According to TVLine, this abbreviated order will conclude the 112-episode run that The Conners had. Furthermore, including the 10th season of Roseanne, this revival has aired eight seasons in total. So, combined, the two series will have produced an epic total of 343 episodes.
In an exclusive interview with TVLine last spring, the series’ executive producer, Bruce Helford (Freddie, Anger Management), shared a statement regarding the final-season order.
“We carry the weight of the Roseanne legacy. It’s a big, big deal,” Helford explained via TVLine. “I can promise you this: They will never win the lottery, and they will never be rich.”
“The whole time that we’ve been doing The Conners, we’ve never stopped feeling the pressure of the legacy of the entire run,” fellow EP Dave Caplan (The Muppets, George Lopez) added via TVLine. “We owe it to these characters because they’re the same characters. That is at the forefront of our minds with all of the stories that we’ve broken for The Conners, and it will be on our minds for the last six.”
According to TVLine, Helford also briefly explained what they have planned, but keeping most information under wraps, by stating, “We don’t want to give anything away, but there are no shortage of surprises in the Conners’ lives…. I think that there is much to happen that is not expected. I mean, we’ve got Bev out there, basically hopping trains and stealing pies off of windowsills. There are a lot of things that are in play, that are in motion, and a lot of things that will come in that aren’t in motion yet.”
According to TVLine, that could mean the return of fan-favorite characters, just like original cast member Michael Fishman (Roseanne, Seinfeld), who left in the fourth season of the series and portrayed the character of DJ, or Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory, SciJinks), who played David.
“The door is always open to Johnny,” Helford concluded via TVLine. “Anything is possible.”
The Conners’ entire six seasons are available to stream on Hulu.
