According to Deadline, all 67 episodes ABC’s comedy drama Moonlighting will be streaming on Hulu starting on October 10. Deadline reports that Hulu says each episode has been remastered in HD and it will include the original title song by Al Jarreau, which was nominated for a Grammy.
In October of 2022, Moonlighting creator Glenn Gordon Caron (Medium, Picture Perfect) posted to Twitter stating, “Disney and I have put our heads together and come up with a plan.” The tweet is attached below.
The tweet caused speculation that either Hulu of Disney+ would be picking up the series to stream.
Moonlighting follows Maddie Hayes, a broke fashion model who gets involved in the detective agency that she owns, Blue Moon Detective Agency, which also employs David Addison Jr., a smart P.I. Hayes is about to sell the agency after her manager cleans her out, but Addison convinces her to keep it. This launches Hayes into a new career and saves Addison’s job.
The series debuted on ABC on March 3, 1985. It ran for five seasons and aired its series finale on May 14, 1989. It starred Cybill Sheperd (Taxi Driver, The Last Picture Show) as Maddie Hayes, Bruce Willis (Die Hard, The Sixth Sense) as David Addison Jr., Allyce Beasley (Recess, Legally Blonde) as Agnes DiPesto, Curtis Armstrong (Supernatural, New Girl) as Herbert Viola, and Jack Blessing (Face Value, The Naked Truth) as MacGuillicudy.
The cast of Moonlighting also included Robert Z’Dar (Tango & Cash, Maniac Cop), Charles Rocket (It’s Pat, Dumb and Dumber), Sterling Holloway (The Power Puff Girl, The Aristocats), Diana Lee Inosanto (The Prodigy, Ahsoka), Allan Arkush (Prince Charming, Get Crazy), and Sandahl Bergman (Cheers, Hart to Hart).
