The anticipated ABC series, Dr. Odyssey, has added a series regular to the mix, Sean Teale (Rosaline, Little Voice). According to Variety, Teale is set to star beside cast lead Joshua Jackson (Fatal Attraction, The Affair), Phillipa Soo (Hamilton, Moana) and Don Johnson (Miami Vice, Knives Out).
Variety notes that, while the character details and plot have not yet been revealed, the series will be a medical procedural that takes place on a cruise ship. Additionally, Dr. Odyssey is set to debut during the network’s 2024-2025 broadcast season.
Teale’s TV credits include his breakout role on the UK series Skins, in which he portrayed the leading character role of Nick Levan during the fifth and sixth seasons. Other works for Teale include starring in The CW’s Reign and Prime Video’s Mr. Selfridge. Additionally, Teale portrayed Ben Larson in the drama series Incorporated by Syfy. Teale has also starred in several other shows, such as Fox’s The Gifted, Apple TV+’s Little Voice and Netflix’s Who Is Erin Carter?
Variety also notes that Teale is represented by Waring + McKenna, WME and Circle of Confusion.
Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) is co-writing Dr. Odyssey alongside Joe Baken (Promised Land, American Horror Stories) and Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Feud). The trio also serves as executive producers along with Jackson.
As per Variety, Murphy executive producers under his banner, Ryan Murphy Television. Additional executive producers include Nissa Diederich (Dr. Odyssey), Eric Paquette (The Silent Hour, Kinetic), Eric Kovtun (American Crime Story, The Watcher), Alexis Martin Woodall (American Horror Story, Pose), Scott Robertson (The Andy Warhol Diaries, Monster) and Paris Barclay (Sons of Anarchy, Cold Case), who is set to direct the series.
According to Variety, Dr. Odyssey is produced by 20th Television, which is the same company that hosts Murphy and his banner’s overall deal.
