Once again, another different casting has been announced by General Hospital‘s producers.
Actress Lindsay Hartley (Passions, Deadly Exchange) replaced Kelly Monaco (Dancing With The Stars, Idle Hands) on Tuesday, Deadline reports. Her absence will be short though, since Monaco will be returning on Friday. The reason for this sudden absence is that the actress wanted to take some personal time. Hartley was Monaco’s substitute another time in the past of the ABC long-running show.
This news of Monaco’s absence from the cast has come after Kirsten Storms (Zenon, Kim Possible) announced last week she will be retiring from her character Maxie Jones for a few days, now being taken over by Nicole Paggi (Undercover Bridesmaid, Hope & Faith) for the time being.
Fans were also surprised when they saw Eden McCoy (The Thundermans, The Kids from 62-F) was not her character, Josslyn Jacks, anymore. What truly happened was that actress Courtney Fulk (Charmed and Cheated, Killer Cheer Mom) is currently substituting for McCoy, a sudden shock for General Hospital fans, since the production never announced casting change in the first place. But, according to Deadline, people who work for the show have said that McCoy is on a short pause and will return to play her character soon.
McCoy has posted on social media, via Deadline, that this “has been a strange year, but I still feel lucky. Wishing everyone reading this love and health.”
Today, the famous series will be celebrating its 60th anniversary since their TV debut with a new special named “General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling.” This special will include testimonies from cast members as they show fans behind the scenes, not-seen-before footage, fan tributes and lots of bloopers.
