TVLine reports that the network has cancelled the prospective series, following controversy and negative responses from the critics.
Alice in Arabia was suppose to follow an American teenager, Alice, who was kidnapped by her Saudi Arabian foster parents after her biological parents’ deaths. Once there, she had to learn to live as a prisoner and try to make her escape.
Although the show was only announced last Monday, it was already cancelled due to backlash and negative responses from the critics towards the pilot news.
“The current conversation surrounding our pilot was not what we had envisioned and is certainly not conducive to the creative process,” ABC Family states about the happening. “So we’ve decided not to move forward with this project.”
