The Anna Godbersen book series is preparing for production at ABC, Deadline has learned.
Bright Young Things is set in 1929 and follows two women who escape their small midwest town and arrive in Manhattan. One woman finds out the father she has never known is a crime boss while the other struggles to become a singer. The book series has three entries, Bright Young Things, Beautiful Days, and The Lucky Ones.
Sheila Callaghan will write the script, while John Wells Production, Andrew Stearn, Leslie Morgenstein and Cheryl Dolins executive produce. Callaghan will also serve as an executive producer.
