In a ComicBook article, fans were updated on two beloved characters who debuted in Disney+’s Ahsoka. The live-action series, which follows the beloved Jedi Padawan from 2008’s animated show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, premiered in 2023 with Rosario Dawson (The Lego Batman Movie, Terminator Zero) as the lead.
According to Comicbook, the character Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno (Let It Snow, Megan 2.0), received a fleshed-out backstory and update in an excerpt on some Star Wars merchandise. Read the excerpt below:
Her master Baylan was once a Jedi, but Shin never trained at the Temple, her background is a mystery. Baylan trains her as if she were a Jedi, but without necessarily adhering to the Jedi Code or wielding the light side of the Force. Shin’s allegiance to anything or anyone beyond her master is unclear — to the audience and likely to herself.
According to Comicbook, season one concluded with Shin Hati and her master, the late Ray Stevenson’s (Punisher: War Zone, Rome) Baylan Skoll, being left behind on the distant planet, Peridea, after their showdown with Ashoka, Sabine, and Ezra. The excerpt continues, stating Shin, “…teams with roving bandits on Peridea and resumes her hunt for Sabine and Ezra. Without Baylan to temper it, Shin’s impulsiveness could lead to challenging scenarios on the far-flung planet where she is stranded.”
This gives fans insight into what to expect from the mysterious antagonist in the series’ future.
While Sakhno is set to return, Stevenon’s character was recast after the actor suddenly passed before the series aired. Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann will portray Skoll in the second season.
The franchise has yet to release a date for season two, but has confirmed it’s in the works. Before season two comes out, check out all the buzz by watching season one of Ahsoka only on Disney+.
