Fans of AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead will be excited to know that a new trailer will be releasing tomorrow, according to ComicBook. Due to complications presented by COVID-19, The Walking Dead’s season 10 finale was pushed back from April 2020 to October 2020, and now the showrunners have decided to release six bonus episodes to wrap up season 10.
These six episodes will take place preceding in the aftermath of the events taking place in season 10 parts A and B. “It’s in the aftermath of 10A and 10B. It is a part of that story. It’s connected to all that,” Scott Gimple, The Walking Dead’s Chief Content Officer stated, as reported by ComicBook.
Gimple goes on to discuss the writing teams’ approach to constructing the narrative of these new bonus episodes. “We had to go right at it. Angela [Kang], the staff, some writers from the past, from Walking Dead past, some people who came back to actually work on them. Everybody just gave it their all. And like Fear the Walking Dead, they’re concentrated stories because they’re shot in a way where we only have a couple of characters that we’re focusing on,” Gimple stated according to ComicBook.
Last episode fans witnessed a climactic war between the Whisperers and our main characters, some of whom had close calls. Negan (Jefferey Dean Morgan, Watchmen) faced off against Beta (Ryan Hurst, Sons of Anarchy) in a deadly knife fight, just when all hopes seemed lost for Negan, Daryl (Norman Reedus, Blade II) saves him and takes Beta out by slamming two knives through his face. With blood, war, and revenge hot on everyone’s breath these bonus episodes will expand upon the fates of old characters and new. Check out AMC’s sneak peek of The Walking Dead trailer below.
