A New ‘Tomb Raider’ In The Making: Two Actresses Eyeing To Become Lara Croft

Amazon Studio has started to ramp up production on their live ac ton series based on the video game, Tomb Raider, which will be directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag). Waller Bridge has stated in interview with Deadline back in May, Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all.” She will surely bring her signature wit and humor into the upcoming series, which promise a fresh perspective into the character and that resonated with the new generation.

Tomb Raider has been a cultural phenomenon, which inspired numerous games, movies and the recent animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. The new series will be executivably produced by Walter Bridge and Jenny Robins (Killing Eve) through Wells Street Productions, as well as DJ2 Entertainment’s Dmitri M. Johnson (It Takes Two), Michael Scheel (Unknown) and countless other supporters.

On the other hand, Lucy’s acting prowess is no slouch either, as she has captivate audience with her portrayal as Mary Austin in Bohemian Rhapsody.

According to Deadline, whether Amazon Studio and Waller Bridge decide to move forward with Sophie, Lucy, or another actress, this series will surely contain intense action and engaging narrative that will captivate the audience and leave them on the edge of their seats. The plot of the series remains under wraps but will surely follow the same format as in the game, in which Lara Croft fights against evil forces and preserves ancient artifacts.
