Modern Family will be ending its run after airing the finale of season 11. Before the series finale airs, ABC will release a documentary covering the making of the long running mockumentary called “A Modern Farewell.” The documentary, directed by Chris Wilcha, will be one a one hour look at the making of the sitcom, from writing to casting to table reads. It will feature exclusive interviews with members of the cast and crew.
Modern Family has been one of the most important sitcoms of the last decade featuring more diverse looks at what a normal family is. The sitcom followed the daily lives of several families, including an interracial blended family and a gay couple who adopt a child. Despite its massive success, there are currently no spin-off series in the works. The series finale promises to wrap up the storylines of our favorite characters and show the difficulty of saying goodbye.
