Deadline reports that Netflix has officially announced a release date of May 27 for season two of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, along with some first-look photos at the upcoming release. This second season will be adapting the second book in the bestselling YA mystery series Good Girl, Bad Blood from author Holly Jackson.

Emma Myers (Wednesday, A Minecraft Movie) returns to star as title character and teen sleuth Pippa Fitz-Amobi opposite co-star Zain Iqbal (All Crazy Random, Why ME?) as Ravi Singh. Also joining the cast this round, from Deadline, are Eden H. Davies (Tell Me Everything, Slaughter), Misia Butler (KAOS, The School for Good and Evil), Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Finding Emily), newcomer Freddie England, Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go, Terminator: Dark Fate), and Asha Banks (My Fault: London, Rebel Cheer Squad). Additional ensemble cast, per Netflix’s Tudum, includes Lu Cornfield (The Crow Girl, Last Tango in Halifax), Stephanie Street (Primeval, Breathtaking), Freddie Thorp (Overdrive, Fate: The Winx Saga), Anna Brindle (Wild Cherry, The Outs), and Peter Sullivan (The Iris Affair, The Jetty).

mxdwn previously reported on the ensemble’s casting announcements in July 2025, noting that the series became one of BBC iPlayer’s most watched titles with 16 to 24-year-olds and BBC Three’s highest rated drama since its relaunch.

The second season picks up after Pip (Meyers) has solved the case of Andie Bell’s murder, following her as she deals with the fallout of finding the truth amidst an emerging threat. Via Deadline, Pip finds herself in a race against time to find Connor’s (Morgan-Collie) brother and key witness Jamie after his sudden disappearance just prior to the trial of Max Hastings (Ashton). Through the harrowing moments of mystery and existential discussion of justice, Pip is grounded by Ravi (Iqbal) in their relationship after they confessed their mutual feelings in the season one finale.

Netflix’s Tudum featured a post from BBC iPlayer’s Instagram in July 2025, where members of the cast and crew announced that season two had officially wrapped up filming.

Season two of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is adapted and written by author Jackson and Poppy Cogan (Steal, Red Rose), who worked on the season one adaptation. Listed by Deadline, this season is produced by Moonage Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. Credited as EPs from Moonage pictures are Simon Crawford-Collins (The Red Violin, Mystic), Matthew Read (The Famous Five, The Gentlemen), and Frith Tiplady (Peaky Blinders, Fortitude). For the BBC’s EP’s, season two has Katherine Bond (Boarders, Boat Story), Lucy Richter (The Woman in the Wall, Top of the Lake), and Danielle Soctt-Haughton (Dear Jesus, The Alexis Show).
