April 17th’s showing of “Lab Rats” comes from a two-part episode “Lab Leak arc” in which Chimney, Hen, Ravi, and Bobby became locked in an underground lab that has been working on a deadly virus. They became entrapped in the building after receiving a call that there was a fire. Bobby goes on to save his team, preforming surgery on Hen and saving her life after her lung collapsed, and delivering water to Ravi when he had an empty tank. Chimney, however, became infected by the deadly virus from the exposure, with it progressing quickly throughout his body. Bobby helps treat Chimney by sending Athena to find the stolen anti-viral medication in which helps slow the disease progression.
However it becomes clear that from treating Chimney, Bobby has become infected as well once he notices that his air tube had been compromised. Sadly, the series saw Bobby pass away, marking himself as a hero for saving his team. Krause has since composed a goodbye letter to his fans, marking an end to his time on 9-1-1.
“Bobby Nash was written in sacrifice and he was built for this. First Responders risk their lives on the job so that others can see another day. His story arc honors them,” Krause said via Deadline.
According to Deadline, the next episode set for May 1, plans to see the burial of Bobby Nash, proving to be a heartbreaking ending for fans of Krause’s character. The series will continue on with Athena jumping into an investigation that will help a grieving mother find out her child’s killer.
