The teaser features clips of Ahsoka wielding a white lightsaber, battling her enemies, and flying in her T-6 shuttle. These clips play in sync with a voice-over of Anakin providing Ahsoka with words of wisdom. Via Comicbook, in the teaser Anakin says, “In this war, you face more than just droids. As your Master. It’s my responsibility to prepare you. I won’t always be there to look out for you. Don’t be afraid. Trust your instincts. I know you can do this, Ahsoka.” Anakin Skywalker’s part in Ahsoka is voiced by Hayden Christensen (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and according to Comicbook, Dawson told Total Film, “It’s definitely one of those things that would be super cool if he was [in Ahsoka], but I’m just really grateful that we’re in the same universe.” There are rumors of Christensen making a physical appearance as Anakin in the show, but nothing has been confirmed yet by Disney.
Writer Dave Filoni helped bring the character of Ahsoka to life in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is also available to watch on Disney+. Ahsoka was then featured in an episode of The Mandalorian. Via Comicbook, Filoni revealed at Star Wars Celebration that it was a big challenge making Ahsoka relatable to viewers who hadn’t seen the animated series. In a universe with overlapping timelines, Ahsoka’s story will pick up after The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.
The two-episode series premiere of Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+ on August 23.
