According to the Television Academy, announcers have been selected for the 77th Emmy Awards Nominations on July 15th. The ceremony will be streamed on Paramount+ with Showtime live from the Wolf Theater in the Academy’s Saban Media Center and hosted by Harvey Guillén (Into the Shadows, Damned If You Do) and Brenda Song (Running Point, Dollface).
Television Academy reports that Guillén and Song will be joined by Television Academy Chair Chris Abrego. Abrego is quoted as saying, “This year’s submissions reflect the remarkable talent, innovation and breadth that define our industry.” He goes further in depth, “Great storytelling depends on the collaboration, dedication and vision of so many across our creative community. I’m thrilled to welcome Harvey and Brenda to help us honor the nominees and kick off what promises to be an unforgettable Emmy celebration.”
The Television Academy details that fans may know Guillén from his role as “Guillermo de la Cruz” in What We Do In The Shadows. He plays the role of a familiar to a gang of vampires who seem to think he is their slave, all the while being more like their unsung hero. Guillén shines on the show with his nonchalant humor and slick comebacks. The show can be found on FX and will air its final season this fall. The role garnered him five Critics’ Choice nominations for Best Supporting Actor. This gave him the honor of being the first openly queer Latino performer to be nominated in that category.
The Television Academy has also reported that Song is well-known for being a multifaceted performer whose works span the mediums of television, film, and voice acting. She was recently presented with the Virtuoso Award at the 2025 Bentonville Film Festival by Variety. Fans may quickly recognize her from being a Disney childhood star who was featured prominently on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She can also be heard as a voice actor on many shows like Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai, Disney’s Amphibia, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, and Cartoon Network’s Robot Chicken.
Viewers can find the awards broadcast live Sunday, Sept. 14, (8:00-11:00 PM EDT/5:00-8:00 PM PDT) on the CBS Television Network.
