On Thursday night, January 5, 2023, at BMF’s second season premiere, 50 Cent (Get Rich or Die Tryin, Escape Plan) made an announcement of plans to expand the BMF universe with three spinoffs. According to Deadline, 50 Cent teased that the universe will be branded as “BMF Immortal.”
“They got some really, really smart executives coming in to help rebuild Starz in the right way. And it’s exciting for me,” 50 Cent shared via Complex. “You’ll get a chance to see three spinoff shows from ‘BMF.’ It’s ‘BMF’ immortal.”
50 Cent previously signed a deal with Lusid Media to produce three projects with the brand. This was a partnership that 50 Cent expressed his anticipation to heighten in the new year, according to Vibe.
“I am excited by the kind of stories we’re going to be bringing to life together, and can’t wait for the first project to reach Peacock next year,” 50 Cent said in a statement at the time. “G-Unit Film & Television continues to go from strength-to-strength, and this partnership with Lusid is another great collaboration for the team.”
Although 50 Cent did not renew his exclusive contract with Starz in September, as posted on his Instagram page, both the producer and the network continue to remain dedicated to creating content that connects socially like BMF and the Power Universe series.
A source at BMF’s second season shindig shared that Starz is invested in 50 Cent, who has long since proven himself as a producer with his track record, and also resonates with audiences in a big way, according to Deadline. The network and 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & TV will continue to search for ways to expand their storytelling.
50 Cent has various other film & television projects in production and development, such as his 8 Mile project with Eminem. Other projects in 2023 have yet to be disclosed. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming projects.
