With the rising popularity of the series 3 Body Problem, viewers are anxious to see if there will be any more content after the first season. According to Deadline, the creators of the series have announced that the series is in fact being renewed and will have two more seasons. The news comes after some confusion after fans thought that the season was not going to be renewed.
The sci-fi drama announced last month that there would be “all new episodes” coming to viewers in the near future”. With that, creators David Benioff, D.B Weiss and Alexander Woo assured fans that they will “get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion”. The announcement did not come with any episodes or seasons specifically revealed or announced, which then sparked some confusion among fans. After several rumors of the show not being set to continue ran their course, Benioff, Weiss and Woo did clarify that the latest pickup was for “seasons” and there were no specifics to provide in regards to the details of particular episodes. But, viewers should not fear, as Netflix has confirmed that seasons two and three of 3 Body Problem are underway.
The series is based off of a series of the same title by Cixin Liu and is formatted in a trilogy, much like how the series is set to play out. Weiss said during a panel at the Netflix FYSEE event that the trilogy format was intentional as they wanted to stay as true to the original novels as possible. “We included a lot of what we loved from the [novels] in Season 1, but the vast majority of reasons we wanted to make this show are in Season 2,” Weiss said. “We always wanted to get to the final page of the third book, and it’s really, really thrilling to us that we will get to do just that.”
The series 3 Body Problem centers around humanity’s first contact with aliens. It then follows the story of one woman who makes a single choice in 1960 which then sends her through space and time. As she goes on her journey, which starts to mess with the laws of nature, those trying to fix all the problems that have been caused will have to face off with humanity’s biggest threat ever.
