’24’ to Stream Exclusively on Amazon Prime

As part of a licensing agreement with Twentieth Century Fox, Amazon has landed exclusive streaming rights for Emmy-winning show 24, as well as the upcoming sequel series, 24: Live Another Day.

The agreement covers all eight seasons (192 episodes) of the original show as well as the made for TV movie 24: Redemption, which attempts to bridge the gap between seasons six and seven. The deal comes following the expiration of a previous pact with Netflix, which granted similar exclusivity rights to the rival service.

Last year, Amazon Prime broke ground when it made CBS summer series Under the Dome available just four days after its debut, while it will use the same plan for Halle Berry’s upcoming series Extant. The series joins a growing catalogue that includes Orphan Black, Grimm, and Falling Skies, among others.

24 is available to stream on Amazon’s Instant Video service now, while Live Another Day will be available at an unspecified time later this year.
