Thanks for joining us for our 2025 Golden Globes live blog. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual award show will honor the year’s best in TV and film. Follow mxdwn here for commentary on the ceremony, hosted by comedienne Nikki Glaser at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m.

8:00 p.m. ET – Here we go! We kickoff the 2025 awards season with the Golden Globes!

8:02 p.m. – Nikki Glaser looks radiant in a silver gown calling it “Ozempic’s biggest night!” She’s thrilled to be the host this evening. She’s getting a lot of laughs with digs at Ben Affleck and RFK Jr. She calls out some legends: movie stars Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, and Colin Farrell, who are also nominated for their limited TV series. A dig at Diddy that claims Stanley Tucci’s “freakoffs” doesn’t have the same ring.

Glaser moves on to Timothe Chalamat adding a quip with the present Adam Sandler, who says his last name perfectly. She moves on to musicals with a nod to Wicked and the not-nominated Joker 2.

Glaser is killing, keeping the laughs flowing with shout-outs to Adrien Brody and Glen Powell. A great opening monologue balancing snark and kindness.

8:11 p.m. – The first presenters are the stars of Moana 2, The Rock, and Auli’i Cravalho, presenting Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. This is followed by our first TV award of the evening.

10:04 p.m. – Nikki dons another new outfit introducing Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh who address the comical comments they have received since appearing in Wicked. They present for Best Original Song.
