The Emmy Awards kicked off tonight at 8 PM, a month earlier than previous tradition. Viewers tuned into NBC this year for results.
Host Seth Meyers opened the awards show, quickly bringing out Amy Poehler to announce the best supporting actor in the comedy department. Modern Family’s Ty Burrell took home the award, making this his second Emmy. Allison Janney also picked up an award in the category, marking her 6th career Emmy award to date.
Next, Jimmy Fallon received an award for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series, referencing his Saturday Night Live performance. Orange Is The New Black’s Uzo Aduba received the same award for her character “Crazy Eyes” in the popular Netflix series.
