Production on Gangs of London Season four has officially begun, with filming now underway according to Variety. The new season brings Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (His House, The Huntsman: Winter’s War) back as Elliot Carter, continuing the series’ signature blend of violent power struggles and shifting alliances across London’s criminal landscape.

A major creative shift defines Season four, led by Jack Lothian (Who Is Erin Carter?, Strike Back), who steps in as the new lead writer and executive producer, a change highlighted by Variety. Jean Luc Herbulot (Zero, Saloum) joins as the lead director, shaping the tone and visual direction of the upcoming episodes. Additional writers include Kevin Rundle(Hollyoaks, EastEnders), Jerome Bucchan‑Nelson (1899, Top Boy), Meg Salter (The Rig, Shetland) and Abi Hynes (Anne of Green Gables, Dark Harbour), with Herbulot directing alongside Lynsey Miller (Surface, Deadwater Fell) and Eran Creevy (The Gentlemen, Welcome to the Punch).

Returning cast members include Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, The Others), Narges Rashidi (Under the Shadow, Goltzius and the Pelican Company) and Andrew Koji (Warrior, Bullet Train), all reprising their roles as the city’s criminal factions face new challenges. Variety also reports that Brian Vernel (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Dunkirk), Orli Shuka (Hyena, All the Old Knives), T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor, Years and Years), Valene Kane (The Fall, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Pippa Bennett‑Warner (Gangs of London, Roadkill) will return, maintaining the ensemble’s strong presence across the series’ interconnected storylines.

Season four expands its cast with several new additions, as detailed by Variety. Tamara Lawrance (Small Axe, The Silent Twins) joins as Jo Malik, while Luna Fujimoto (Sniper: G.R.I.T., Tokyo Vice) appears as Hanaka. Eugene Nomura (Tokyo Vice, The Last Samurai) portrays Takeshi Kimura, and Melika Foroutan (The Empress, Tribes of Europa) joins as Zerin.
