Kathryn Hahn (Wandavision, Bad Moms) has shared her thoughts on the future of Disney+’s Agatha All Along after receiving a 2025 Golden Globe nomination in the category “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy” for the series, Comicbook.com reports. This category confirms that Marvel Studios has changed the status of Agatha All Along from “Limited Series” to “Regular Series,” which means it could provide more than one season to its audience.
According to Comicbook.com, Hahn stated last month that she was done portraying this character because of what happened in the finale. (SPOILERS AHEAD) The finale of Agatha All Along saw the famous witch Agatha Harkness sacrifice her life as she was fighting against her ex-girlfriend Death, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza (Criminal Minds, Parks And Recreation), and, with a mind-blowing plot twist, return as ghost-companion for the Scarlet Witch’s son, Billy Maximoff, portrayed by Joe Locke (Heartstopper). So, if the character was canonically seen as dead, the exit from Hahn was more than correct.
According to Comicbook.com, today, Hahn spoke in an interview with Deadline about her Golden Globes nomination, giving her newest thoughts on the possibility of a second season of the series: “I think I meant that we were very satisfied by the way that Agatha All Along ended the arc of that story being told there,” Hahn explained via Comicbook.com.
“I think everyone would be thrilled to come back, of course, in any capacity,” she added via Comicbook.com. “It was a very life-altering, deep experience in Atlanta, Georgia, with just this very small cast on the soundstage, day after day after day.”
“I’m so proud, and I’m so thrilled for Marvel,” she concluded via Comicbook.com. “They were so supportive of this tiny, fabulous, female-and-queer-led show.”
The first season of Agatha All Along is now available to stream on Disney+.
