TV One has announced they will air the newest season of hit reality series R&B Divas LA on Video on Demand. The premiere will air on Sunday, July 7, which is three days before the network will air the first episode, as reported by Indiewire.
This west-coast centered reality show will be the second in the R&B Divas series, with the first being set in Atlanta. R&B artists to be included in the show are Kelly Price, Chante Moor, Dawn Robinson, Lil’ Mo, Claudette Ortiz and Michel’le.
The network’s decision to air first on VOD was based upon the anticipation of faithful fans and viewers. Indiewire quoted SVP of Program Strategy and Acquisitions Maureen Guthman as saying, “The R&B Divas franchise has sustained heated buzz and anticipation among our viewers and we are delighted to offer them the LA series premiere early, via the VOD service.”
On whether the new west-coast series will follow the same format as the Atlanta show, Guthman said, “As with R&B Divas Atlanta, the Los Angeles series provides an intimate group portrait of highly respected female R&B artists, their professional successes and struggles, and the interplay between their careers, relationships and families – but with a uniquely LA flavor.”
Season two of R&B Divas Atlanta will wrap up Wednesday, June 19 on TV One, and will be followed by a reunion special on June 26.
