According to Deadline, Netflix has greenlighted the psychological thriller His & Hers which will star Tessa Thompson. Thomson (Thor: Ragnarok, Creed) will play the role of Anna in the series and will also executive produce. The limited series will be adapted from Alice Feeney’s (Daisy Darker: A Novel, Good Bad Girl) 2020 novel and will consist of six episodes.
Bill Dubuque (The Accountant, Ozark) and Dee Johnson (ER, Fellow Travelers) will write and executive produce for the series. Johnson will also serve as showrunner for the series and filmmaker William Oldroyd (Eileen, Lady Macbeth) will serve as writer and direct the first episode. “Set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a journalist,” reads the official synopsis for the TV series, which relocates the action from London, England to the capital of Georgia. “But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega – the sleepy town where she grew up – Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying.”
As per Deadline, although the novel was published in 2020 it was quickly snatched up by Chastain’s Freckle Films, Campo and Fifth Season to be adapted into a limited time series.
Thomson is known for many roles in both television and film. Some of Thomson’s television credits include Copper, 666 Park Avenue, Dear White People, Portlandia and What if…?. Thomson has also played many roles as Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel series.
The streamer has yet to announce when they’ll start production on His & Hers.
