According to Screenrant, on her official Instagram page, Mulgrew posted the official poster for the new season, which is set to premiere on Netflix on July 1, and is urging fans for their support to ensure the future of the animated series. In her post, she states, “The new season will drop in one week.” She also expressed her love for voicing Admiral Janeway and her hopes to continue.

According to a previous mxdwn post, the first season followed a ragtag team of alien teenage refugees who discovered an abandoned Starfleet ship. On their journey throughout the galaxy towards Starfleet, the team lends their aid to planets in need. The second season will focus on the crew training on Janeway as they try to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of the previous crew of the Protostar. It consisted of 21 episodes, which varied from 21 to 24 minutes.
The animated series is a sequel to the 1990’s Star Trek: Voyager, according to Screenrant, and fans are hoping that it does what Voyager never did, which is to create a relationship between Janeway and Chakotay and give them a happily ever after. A trailer shows the team from the first season as they adapt to their new lives as members of Starfleet and the training that awaits them.A new character, the Doctor, voiced by Robert Picardo (Space Command), will join the crew in the upcoming season.
