Before the first season is even over, Prime Video’s Gen V has been renewed for a second season. The Boys spinoff show has been received with very positive feedback from new viewers and fans alike. The renewal comes shortly after the premiere of the show on September 29, with only the first five episodes available, but with the highly praised reception of the new series, the renewal is well-earned.
There is yet to be any concrete data released by Amazon about the statistical performance of the show since the premiere as it hasn’t even been a month since Gen V premiered, but if the series continues to do well and ends up on the streaming Top 10, more data will possibly become available to the public.
Gen V is about a group of young adults who are attending a university that is only meant for superheroes. The series covers not only the fantastical adventures that the life of a superhero competing in a collegiate school ranking system brings, but also the average struggles of young adults in college such as love, friendship, and figuring out who they are. It stars Jaz Sinclair (The Vampire Diaries), Chance Perdomo (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules), Shelley Conn (Good Omens), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Never Have I Ever), Derek Luh (Runaways), Asa Germann (Ned and Stacy), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Midnight Sun), Sean Patrick Thomas (Halloween: Resurrection), and Marco Pigossi (Invisible City). Alongside this cast, there are some guest appearances from Jessie T. Usher (Survivor’s Remorse), Colby Minifie (Fear The Walking Dead), Claudia Doumit (Timeless) and P.J. Byrne (Vinyl) who are bringing back their roles from The Boys.
Gen V is streaming on Prime Video. Episodes one through five are available to stream and episode six will be available to watch on Friday, October 20. Gen V’s finale will be released on November 3 on Prime Video.
