The special event will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting on Friday, Oct. 27th for Canada and America. The event will be available for streaming on Saturday, Oct. 28th for international viewers such as The UK and Australia.
This event will be called South Park: Joining The Panderverse. The new special will have the characters change age, gender, and race, says The Wrap.
It also delves into the changes in the world due to AI enhancement and how the adults in South Park are handling their lives, Deadline explained.
This will be the fifth South Park special event, according to Deadline. Various others include South Park: Post Covid, South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid, South Park The Streaming Wars, and South Park The Streaming Wars Part 2.
For those unfamiliar with the show, South Park is summarized on IMDB. The synopsis says that the show “follows the exploits of four boys in the quiet mountain town of South Park, Colorado. Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Eric fight the forces of evil, including genetically engineered towels, crab people, man/bear/pig hybrids, TV execs, and each other. The four boys face the challenges of growing up with crazy parents, crazy friends, and crazy people. This Emmy winning series explores topics like homosexuality, death, the media, and education in every episode.”
According to Deadline, South Park recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The show originally debuted on August 13, 1997 as an animated short and has since been a popular adult animated program. This makes South Park cable’s longest-running scripted show. The series has also been renewed up until 2027 and will see a 30th season in the coming years.
The special events will be available exclusively through Paramount+ following a new contract that was made in 2023.
