According to Deadline, HBO has announced today that the network will be renewing its critically acclaimed comedy series, The Righteous Gemstones, for a fourth season. The Righteous Gemstones was created by Danny McBride (Vice Principals, Eastbound & Down) and follows a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of greed, deviance, and charitable work. The spoiled Gemstone children discover that leadership is harder than they thought and their extravagant lifestyle comes with a heavy price when they finally get their wish to take control of the Church.
The Righteous Gemstones is created and written by McBride, who directs the series with David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Halloween Kills) and Jody Hill (Superbad, Arizona). The three executive produce with Brandon James (Arizona, Flower), Jonathan Watson (The Disaster Artist, Vice Principals), John Carcieri (Workaholics, The Last O.G.), and Jeff Fradley (Halloween, Your Highness). The series is produced by David Brightbill (Homeland, Six). Consulting producers include Chris Pappas (Hubie Hallowee, Unhitched), Kevin Barnett (Rel, Friends of the People), and Edi Patterson (Knives Out, Violent Night).
The series stars McBride as Jesse Gemstone, Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Hill as Levi, Cassidy Freeman (Smallville, Longmire) as Amber Gemstone, Adam Devine (Workaholics, Pitch Perfect) as Kelvin Gemstone, Stephen Dorff (True Detective, Star) as Vance Simkins, John Goodman (Roseanne, The Conners), Time Baltz (Shrink, John Bronco) as BJ, Tony Cavalero (School of Rock, The Dirt), Walton Goggins (The Shield, Sons of Anarchy) as Baby Billy Freeman, Gregory Alan Williams (The World We Make, Freshman Year) as Martin Imari, Jason Schwartzman (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Asteroid City) as Thaniel Block, and Skylar Gisondo (Booksmart, Santa Clarita Diet) as Gideon Gemstone.
