Paul Crouch, founder of the Televangelist and Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) passed away Saturday, November 30.
According to Deadline, Crouch started his career in religious-based media with KRSD in Rapid City, South Dakota. He later went on to manage NBC affiliate KRSD-TV. The Assemblies of God’s Department of Television and Film Production Company based in Burbank, CA appointed Crouch as head in 1961 to oversee production of films, audiovisual materials and children’s teaching aids.
Along with his wife, Crouch founded the network TBN in 1973. Together they bought their first TV station KLXA-TV in 1974. The network has 84 satellite channels and over 18,000 TV and cable affiliates.
TBN also has a Christian indie film production company Gener8Xion Entertainment, Inc.
