According to Deadline, Apple TV+ has just added six more cast members for their newest crime drama show, Sinking Spring. The final crop of faces set to star in Sinking Spring includes Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames (the Mission Impossible franchise, Pulp Fiction), Dustin Nguyen (21 Jump Street, VIP), Nesta Cooper (See, #RealityHigh), Will Pullen (Greyhound, The Unforgivable), Liz Caribel (God’s Time, Pussy Island), and Idris Debrand (Dear Edward, Kat and the Band).
The actors will join a star-studded ensemble cast helmed by Academy Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Bullet Train), which also includes the acting talents of stars such as Michael Mando (Better Call Saul, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Marin Ireland (Hell or High Water, The Umbrella Academy), Kate Mulgrew (Orange is the New Black, Star Trek: Voyager), and Amir Arison (The Blacklist, The Dropout). As reported by Deadline, the eight episode limited series comes from Peter Craig (Top Gun: Maverick, The Batman) and is a live-action adaptation of the 2009 novel Dope Thief by author Dennis Tafoya (The Wolves of Fairmont Park, The Poor Boy’s Game). The story of Sinking Spring follows Philadelphia-born best friends and troublemakers, Ray (Henry) and Manny (Mando), who masquerade as DEA agents as part of a mission to rob a mysterious house in the countryside. However, things quickly spiral out of control for the two delinquents when they unwittingly uncover and unravel the largest secret narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.
All eight episodes of Sinking Spring were written by Craig who will also lead one episode as part of his directorial debut. Craig will also executive produce the series alongside Ridley Scott (the Alien franchise, Blade Runner), as well as Henry, David W. Zucker (The Good Wife, The Good Fight), Jordan Sheehan (The Man in the High Castle, The Terror), and Clayton Kreuger (Kaleidoscope, The Passage), with Tafoya serving as a consulting producer.
