According to Deadline, Starz has just renewed the hit drama series, Power Book II: Ghost, for a fourth season only a couple of months ahead of its third season premiere on March 17. The fourth season of the show is currently in production in New York with Michael Ealy (Reasonable Doubt, Fatale) set to join the series’ cast in a recurring role.
As written by Deadline, Ealy will portray Detective Don Carter, an up-and-coming NYPD officer who was nearly promoted to Police Commissioner until his beloved wife was murdered in a crossfire between rivaling drug gangs. Since that day, Carter has vowed to make the streets of New York safe by any means necessary. He’s since traded in his tie for a Kevlar vest and now spearheads an elite NYPD drug task force with strong success rates in countering drug-related violence and crimes.
The third season of Power Book II: Ghost begins with Tariq St. Patrick, played by Michael Rainey Jr. (Power, Orange is the New Black), determined to get his trust, get back to his loving family, and most importantly, get out of the game once and for all. However, the arrival of a ruthless new contact interrupts Tariq’s plans to reunite with his mother Tasha, played by Naturi Naughton (Queens, The Playboy Club), and sister Yaz, played by Paris Morgan, putting him and his friends back into business with the Tejadas gang with the challenge of moving more weight than ever before.
Season three of Power Book II: Ghost will debut on Friday, March 17 at midnight on the Starz app, as well as all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms. The series will also premiere internationally on the Lionsgate+ premium streaming platforms across the UK and Brazil. On linear, it will debut on Starz at 6 p.m. PST/ET in the U.S. and Canada.
