Paramount+ has renewed SEAL Team for a seventh season two months after the season six finale and cliffhanger, according to Deadline. Deadline reports that due to the renewal delay, compared to season six renewal which took place just a week after the season five finale, fans of the show launched a renewal campaign on social media with the hashtag #RenewTEAMSeal.
The delay was largely due to the back-and-forth about the efficiency of filming the series now that it has been moved from broadcast to streaming, via Deadline. While on broadcast, SEAL Team filmed on sets and sound stages for nine months, creating 22 episodes per season, according to Deadline. Now that the series has moved to Paramount+, the seasons have been cut to ten episodes, tightening the budget and reducing the need for storage, via Deadline.

SEAL Team follows the lives of the elite Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions the United States of America can ask. Season six ended with Jason, the respected and intense team leader played by David Boreanaz (Angel, Bones), getting reprimanded for speaking about his traumatic brain injury, before everyone on his team follows and shares their own traumatic experiences, which puts the team’s future in jeopardy, via Deadline.
Alongside Boreanaz, the series stars Neil Brown Jr. (Insecure, Straight Outta Compton), A.J. Buckley (CSI: NY, Murder in the First), Toni Trucks (NCIS: New Orleans, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Justin Melnick (The Matter with Clark, Five Hacks), Max Thieriot (The Pacifier, Disconnect), Tyler Grey (Suicide Squad, Snitch), Judd Lormand (The Hunger Games, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), and Jessica Paré (Wicker Park, Hot Tub Time Machine).
Chief of Programming Officer of Paramount Steaming Tanya Giles tells Deadline: “We look forward to bringing SEAL Team fans even more of the series’ poignant storylines and thrilling missions with the upcoming seventh season. The series continues to evolve and grow its audience. It is a great example of the types of programming that we see resonate with our subscribers.”
