USA Network has expanded its partnership with the NFL, bringing NFL Characters Unite back for a third year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the one-hour documentary will air during the Super Bowl. This expansion brings weekly on-air vignettes and a web series launching on December 2 at CharactersUnite.com. The web series will kick off with Randall Cobb, wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers.
Sunday Night Football‘s, Cris Collinsworth will narrate the third NFL Characters Unite. Victor Cruz, Mark Herzlich, Nick Mangold, Ray Rice, Charles Tillman, J.J. Watt and Dez Bryant will be some of the NFL players featured.
USA’s senior VP of public affairs, Toby Graff said, “By sharing the profound stories of NFL players, we hope to inspire viewers to find the same strength and determination to combat hate and discrimination in their own lives and communities.”
This program is part of USA’s Characters Unite public service campaign fighting prejudice and discrimination. NFL Characters Unite will be executive produced by Charlie Ebersol and produced/directed by Paul Pawlowski.
NFL Characters Unite premieres on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. ET on USA.
