There is little over a month left to go before the debut of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, the latest installment in AMC’s Immortal Universe, though fans are already getting a window into the tone and style of Rice’s new series with a handful of motion posters that were recently released on the official Immortal Universe twitter account. The posters were showcased this past Friday with each giving a brief glimpse into the mystifying and supernatural phenomenon that run rampant within the dilapidated Mayfair House.
The first poster poses the question, “Have you ever heard of the old Mayfair House…?” and features a shadowy figure walking past the stained glass of the house’s front doors. The second demands that fans “feel the darkness. Feel the light” as another shadowy figure messes with one of the lights in an upstairs room. The third and final poster cautions that “the witching hour is almost upon us” before a flock of birds flies directly at the viewer. Each of the three motion posters can be found below.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is an adaptation of Rice’s book series by the same name and tells the story of Dr. Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus, Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief), a genius neurosurgeon who unwittingly discovers that she is the unexpected heir to a family of witches in New Orleans. With little time to prepare, Fielding must master her burgeoning magical abilities in order to defeat a sinister evil which has plagued her family for generations.
According to Comicbook, the series will be will be influenced by Rice’s novel, but will not serve as a direct adaptation. Comicbook also writes that the first season will start where the first book in the series starts and will primarily focus on the Southern gothic tone of New Orleans, as well as the ghost story surrounding the titular Mayfair House. Rice is widely known for her best-selling novel, Interview with the Vampire, which has been adapted into both a movie and TV series, the latter of which takes place in the same universe as Mayfair Witches.
Following the announcement of a push back premiere date back in October (more on that story can be found: here), the series is currently set to debut on January 8, 2023, exclusively on AMC and AMC+.
