Deadline provided a description of the upcoming third season of Ramy: “The show’s return continues to chronicle the character’s journey of self-discovery as an Egyptian-American millennial who is questioning his Muslim faith and the existence of God across 10 episodes. As he abandons his spiritual journey, he instead dedicates himself to his and his uncle’s diamond business. This season, his family appears to be on a similar path questioning their place in an ever-changing world, caught between who they want to be and who they really are. The Hassans will be forced to confront having lived a life dedicated to worldly concerns — and in some cases, lies.”
The new trailer also revealed newcomer Bella Hadid’s guest starring role as the character Lena, who is the girlfriend of Ramy’s friend Steve, played by Steve Way (Projecting). Hadid is a well-known model and social media influencer.
Other stars of the show include Laith Nakli (The Long Road Home), Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049), Amr Waked (Salmon Fishing In The Yemen), May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Dave Merheje (Mr. D), and Mohammed Amer (Mo). Youssef created the series and also serves as writer, director, and executive producer. Other executive producers for the series include Adel Kamal (Ubuntu), Christopher Storer (The Bear), Tyson Bidner (On The Count Of Three), Amir Sulaiman (American Sharia), Jerrod Carmichael (The Carmichael Show), and Kate Thulin (Mrs. Fletcher). Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch, who both also produced for On The Count Of Three, serve as co-creators and executive producers. A24 is the studio that produces Ramy.
