Episode one of Disney+’s newest Marvel series, Ms. Marvel, contains a post-credits scene that shows a connection to the film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, as described by Men’s Health. In the post-credits scene, Department of Damage Control Agent P. Cleary, who appeared in the third MCU Spider-Man movie and is played by Arian Moayed (Inventing Anna), makes an appearance alongside Alysia Reiner (Orange Is The New Black), who plays Agent Sadie Reever.
In the post-credits scene, Cleary is watching Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel and played by newcomer Iman Vellani, as she attends Avenger Con. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, he watched and investigated Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland (Avengers: Infinity War), after Mysterio, played by Jake Gylleenhaal (Brokeback Mountain), revealed his identity and accused him of being his killer.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Department of Damage Control is a government organization, which was a joint creation by Stark Industries and the U.S. Government, that cleans up damage from battles that involve superheroes and tries not to have superhero-related incident escalate. They have brief mentions in both Iron Man and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and first appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, where they confiscate materials from the Chitauri invasion, which occurs in The Avengers.
Cleary’s appearance seems to suggest the U.S. Government is aware of Khan’s powers and is now likely being investigated by the Department of Damage Control. This could create a further conflict for Khan as she goes on her journey to become Ms. Marvel.
Ms. Marvel stars Vellani, Reiner, Matt Lintz (A Cinderella Story: One Upon A Song), Zenobia Shroff (Little Zizou), Yasmeen Fletcher (Upside-Down Magic), Laurel Marsden (Survive), Anjali Bhimani (Don’t Wake Mommy), Rish Shah (To All The Boys: Always And Forever, Lara Jean), and Nimra Bucha (Churails). The show is executive produced by Bisha K. Ali (Loki) and Kevin Feige (Avengers: Endgame).
