Fans are just one day away from seeing the live-action debut of Moon Knight. Disney+ has put out a new trailer of the the highly anticipated series set to launch on Wednesday, March 30.
Like its other promos, the new trailer, titled “Welcome the Knight,” focuses on Steven Grant (played by Oscar Isaac) as he discovers his Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and his two alter egos, Marc Spector and Moon Knight. The trailer includes new footage involving a chase between Steven and an unknown creature in the museum, a confused Steven at a restaurant, and additional clips for other sequences teased from other trailers and promos.
Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Moon Knight follows Marc Spector, a former mercenary drawn into a deadly mystery involving the Egyptian gods as he tackles with multiple identities, including Steven Grant and Marc Spector. Isaac stars as the titular character, with Ethan Hawke (Boyhood, Training Day) as Arthur Harrow and May Calamawy (Ramy) as Layla.
The series has received positive reviews from critics, with a current 87 percent on RottenTomatoes. “Its entertainment value may wax and wane a bit, but Moon Knight ultimately settles into a mostly enjoyable — and refreshingly weird — spot in the MCU firmament,” says the Critics’ Consensus on the site.
The series will be the first to introduce a new hero into the MCU, followed by two other series featuring new characters with Ms. Marvel premiering in June and She-Hulk coming later this year.
Moon Knight is expected to usher in a series of supernatural related characters into the MCU with Blade, starring Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage, Moonlight), coming to theaters and a Halloween special focused on Werewolf By Night coming to Disney+ later this year.
