HBO’s The White Lotus, which was renewed in August, has cast Sabrina Impacciatore (Ever Been to the Moon?), Beatrice Grannó (The Time of Indifference) and Simona Tabasco (Luna Park) in its upcoming second season. While the first season followed guests on a Hawaii resort, the sophomore season will follow the guests of an Italian hotel.
The previously-announced cast includes F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde), who will reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid, Adam DiMarco (Radio Rebel), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Tom Hollander (Pride & Prejudice), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Theo James (Divergent), Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), Haley Lu Richardson (Five Feet Apart), Will Sharpe (Flowers) and Leo Woodall (Cherry).
Coolidge’s role as a famous socialite, which will be the only character from the debut season to appear in the show’s sophomore season, has earned her several award nominations, including Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series at the Screen Actor Guild Awards, Outstanding Performance in a New Series at the Gotham Awards, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role on Television at the Golden Globe Awards and Best Actress in a Series at the AACTA International Awards.
While The White Lotus debuted in July, its first trailer was unveiled in June, and it was renewed for a second season just one month later.
The first season of The White Lotus starred Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson) and Coolidge, among others. The new Italian cast will play residents of the surrounding areas of the Sicily resort. Impacciatore will play the role of Valentina, the manager of the White Lotus, while Grannó will play Mia and Tabasco will play Lucia – two Sicilian girls who are often seen around the hotel.
