Apple TV+ released the official trailer for Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, via Empire. Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock is a reboot of the iconic Fraggle Rock series. The reboot will be available on Apple TV+ on January 21.
Fraggle Rock is a children’s musical fantasy-comedy TV series about interconnected societies of Muppet creatures. It has become an all-time classic since its debut in 1983. Following the success of the Fraggle Rock: Rock On! shorts which aired on Apple TV+ in April 2020, a reboot of Fraggle Rock was ordered by the streaming service.
The trailer indicates that the five beloved characters, Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, and Wembley, will all return to this upcoming series. The video features the Fraggles as they embark on new adventures. One of the scenes in the trailer features the Fraggles rocking in a mysterious yet vivid underground cave. It also gives us a glimpse of one of the catchy musical numbers that we should expect to see in the reboot.
The original show ran from 1983 to 1987. As the trailer states, this series is for everyone regardless of age. For those who grew up in the 1980s, this reboot will surely bring up a lot of nostalgic feelings. And the new series serves as a continuity of the fascinating adventures. For others, the show is the opportunity to get to know these iconic TV figures.
Voice actors and performers include Kevin Clash (The Muppets), Karen Prell (The Tale of the Bunny Picnic), Jordan Lockhart (Hi Opie!), John Tartaglia (Johnny and the Sprites), and Donna Kimball (Word Party). Prell and Tartaglia are also two of the executive producers.
Fraggle Rock: Back To The Rock will debut with all 13 initial episodes on Apple TV+ on January 21.
