Fans of Amazon Prime video’s original series, Bosch, can finally mark their calendar for its seventh season premiere. Deadline reports the final season will launch Friday, June 25. The crime drama stars Titus Welliver (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D., Deadwood) as homicide Detective Harry Bosch. Watch the new teaser trailer below:
According to Deadline, the series is based on the book series written by Michael Connelly (Black Echo, The Night Fire) who also serves as an executive producer for the show. Connelly’s 2014 novel, The Burning Room, began Detective Bosch’s narrative as he searched at great lengths to find an arsonist whose deliberate act killed a 10-year-old girl. Bosch fights all bureaucracy and morals to bring the killer to justice.
Bosch is joined by a cast that includes Jamie Hector (The Wire, Just Another Day) and Amy Aquino (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Everybody Loves Raymond) as Det. Jerry Edgar and Lt. Grace Billets, respectively, via Deadline. Lance Reddick (John Wick, Sylvie’s Love) stars as police Chief Irvin Irving; and, Madison Lintz (The Walking Dead, After) plays Bosch’s daughter, Maddie.
According to Deadline, Eric Overmyer (Treme, Homicide: The Movie) developed the series for television, with Red Arrow Studios’ Fabrick Entertainment producing. Welliver and Overmyer serve as executive producers along with Peter Jan Brugge (Bulworth, The Clearing), Henrik Bastin (American Odyssey, Hassel/Förgörarna), and Elle Johnson (The Glades, The Fosters).
While this is the final season, the Bosch universe will live on. Deadline reports a spinoff series starring Welliver is in development at the Amazon-owned streaming service, IMDB TV. Welliver will be joined by Lintz and Mimi Rogers (Affairs of State, Austin Powers: International Man).
Another one of Connelly’s novels, The Lincoln Lawyer, is being adapted as a series by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) for Netflix. The book was first brought to life in the 2011 film starring Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club, Mud).
