Truth Seekers, the Amazon comedy horror series from Nick Frost (Paul, Shaun of the Dead) and Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Star Trek), has been canceled after its first season, according to an Instagram video from Frost. The series, written by Nat Saunders (SOS: Save Our Skins) and James Serafinowicz (Spaced), premiered in October.
“We really put our all into this,” Frost said in the video, “our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us.”

Frost led the series as Gus, who installs broadband equipment with Elton, played by Samson Kayo (Timewasters). Together, Gus and Elton “stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos,” eventually discovering “a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race,” according to British Comedy Guide.
Emma D’Arcy (Hanna), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Star Trek: Generations), Susan Wokoma (Enola Holmes), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh) and Taj Atwal (Line of Duty) also starred alongside Frost and Kayo, according to British Comedy Guide. Pegg often appeared as Gus and Elton’s boss Dave, according to Chortle.
Truth Seekers was produced by Frost and Pegg’s own Stolen Picture. Jim Field Smith (Criminal: UK) directed the series.
