The CW has Released a brand-new trailer giving fans a sneak peak of what’s in store for season seven of The Flash, according to ComicBook. With COVID-19 stalling the original air dates for season seven, fans are waiting with bated breath for the return of the Scarlet Speedster. As the show gets back on track, fans will have several questions answered and witness the lengths Barry (Grant Gustin, Glee) has to go to save Iris (Candice Patton, The Guest) from a mirror prison.
The Flash season six introduced a new threat into Barry’s life in the form of a revitalized version of Master Mirror. Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor, The Zookeepers Wife) uses her knowledge of the Mirror World to get an upper hand on Barry and Team flash by swapping Iris out with an imposter. Eva uses this fake Iris as a secret agent to conspire against the team in order to build a bridge from the Mirror World to their realm. As Barry discovers this threat, he sets off on a mission to return Iris safely to his arms, unfortunately things don’t go quite as Barry planned.
The trailer also mentions that Barry’s speed is depleting, this was a phenomenon introduced last season. The destruction of the speed force took place during last season’s crisis episode when The Spectre (Stephen Amell, Arrow) used his powers to implement his own energy into the speed force to help Barry. In season six’s episode 14, entitled “Death of The Speed Force,” fans discovered that The Spectre’s powers were poisoning the speed force itself and as the speed force deteriorates, so do Barry’s powers.
With a race to save Iris from the new Master Mirror and Barry running out of speed, season seven pits Team Flash against insurmountable odds. Fans have already begun to speculate that Flash will have to either use the negative speed force or create his own speed force in order to keep his powers, only time will tell. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long as the first episode of season seven is set to premiere Tuesday March 2, 2021.
