Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter, Pulp Fiction) is set to join the cast of upcoming Apple TV+ series Severance, according to Variety. The series follows Lumen Industries, a company looking to take “work-life balance” to a new level. Walken is slated to star as Burt, the Optic department’s lead at Lumen, alongside actors and actresses like Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), and John Turturro (The big Lebowski).
Walken is primarily known for his work in films, a list that spans almost seven decades, with names such as The Deer Hunter, Catch Me if You Can, King of New York, Biloxi Blues, Wedding Crashers, Hairspray, and Pulp Fiction. However, his most recent work in television was the role of Captain Hook in the NBC special Peter Pan Live!.
Severance is written and executive produced by Dan Erickson (Treasure Trouble) alongside Ben Stiller (Zoolander), Nicky Weinstock (Alex Strangelove), and Jackie Cohn (In the Dark), who will executive produce via Red Hour Productions. The workplace thriller is expected to begin production later this month.
